Mia couldn't help but smile as she jogged down the pathway to the beach. She had left a note for Idunn to meet her on the beach at midnight. A somewhat romantic getaway in this odd place they were both in together. They couldn't be couple-ish while at school, they would have their asses handed to them by the staff. But if Mia could get Idunn alone, without the staff around, then maybe she could have a quiet moment with her love.
Mia hefted her backpack as she reached the sands of the beach. She looked around and picked out a nice spot on a flat rock to set out the blanket. In her bag she had some snacks and a bottle of smuggled Aquavit. She set out two glasses and poured some of the spiced alcohol into them, taking a premature sip before the other girl arrived. Mia laughed to herself as she readied everything. She wanted Idunn to be pleased with her. That is all she ever wanted. She just wanted the woman she loved to smile for her.
Mia kicked off her shoes and took off her top, revealing her bikini top. She threw her shirt in her bag and began to poke around to see what was there. After she got bored of that she sat on the rock, with her legs crossed and fell onto her back, staring up at the sky. She began counting stars waiting for midnight and Idunn to show up.
Mia had done this before. Convinced Idunn to sneak out and meet her alone. She had stolen her fathers boat and took Idunn on a midnight ride. It was the first time they were together. The similar full moon hanging in the sky. She had pulled Idunn into the sea with all of her clothes still on. But that was when they were still together back in Denmark, in Mia's hometown.
All of that seemed like such a distant memory. She longed for other moments like they used to have. And she hoped that tonight might be one of those moments.
