Arthurwalked into the cafeteria debating on whether he should actually sit down and eat or simply read books in the library till it was time to go to the next class. One could argue that the Englishman just didn't like the food like all the other students, but really, it was the fact that he couldn't stand to be around other students. It wasn't that he didn't particularly care for most of them, which could be debatable, it was merely that fact that he didn't exactly have "friends". Of course, Arthur would never admit to such a thing and would rebuttal by saying that he had many acquaintances, who were just as good as friends, but without the commitment.
Though, it was always like this for Arthur, even when he was just a boy in England. Well, back then, it was more apt to start a fight with someone if they annoyed him than it was in this school. He wasn't necessarily scared of anyone, rather, he didn't want to bring attention to himself. When he was much younger, Arthur had no problem leaping over the table to punch a kid square in the face if they made fun of him or if they crossed him on one of his bad days. In this school, he would admit that he'd be evenly matched or have someone completely out of his league, so just starting a fight wasn't the best way to go.
He got his lunch and sat at one of the tables far, far away from everyone and pulled out Shakespeare's "Macbeth". Arthur pushed his tray away from him and began to read where he left off. Every so often, he'd flick his green eyes and scan the area, then continue reading. The Englishman sighed; he wondered if anything interesting would happen, considering he rarely showed up for lunch.

Ivan practically stormed into the lunchroom, in a very, very, bad mood. He had just come from hand-to-hand combat training, and some little upstart piece of shit freshie had thought that he could get the better of Ivan by throwing in a cheap shot. Ivan strongly disagreed and had beaten the kid into a bloody pulp, they had actually had to have the nurse come out to the training yard to treat the kid before he died of bloodloss. What pissed Ivan off even more, was he had learned that the stupid little freshie was put up to that by his older brother, an asshole with a grudge against Ivan large enough to sacrifice his kid brother it seemed.
So Ivan stormed into the lunchroom to find the ublyudok, intent on beating the ever living crap out of him, with a large dose of public humiliation for him thrown in, hence why Ivan was confronting him in the lunchroom. Plus he just wanted to start a fight right now, and this way would get some of the stupid kids friends involved more then likely, which would give Ivan more people to beat up.
He walked through the doorway, standing there with a neutral expression on his face as he looked for the kid, his name was Steve Ivan was pretty sure. He quickly spotted the other boy, who seemed to be seething in anger already, probably at the damage Ivan had caused to his little brother. Ivan smiled, although it turned out more creepy then happy, as he walked over to Steve and his friends, who were sitting at a table in the back, a little ways away from a nearly empty one that Ivan didn’t really notice.
Ivan calmly tapped Steve on the shoulder, waiting until he turned around, and then punched him as hard as he could in the jaw, feeling the bone crack beneath his fist, and inciting what might soon enough turn out to be one of the largest lunchroom fights yet, as Steve’s friends jumped up in shock as their friend’s jaw was broken.
(Steve is just a name I chose at random to be the guy Ivan gets to beat up, feel free to control him or some of his friends if you'd like eueb BesidesweneededascapegoatforeveryonetobeatonsonowwecanuseSteve))

Arthur blankly flipped through the pages, trying to remember how many times he had actually read "Macbeth". At this point, he could probably recite every single line of the play. After skimming through the whole book, Arthur set it back down on the table and let out a sigh. He figured if he had gone to the library, he could've picked up another book or something else Shakespeare had written.
When he began to poke his food with his fork, Arthur saw someone hastily walk into the cafeteria. As he looked closer, it was none other than Ivan Braginski. The Englishman continued to watch the Russian, as Ivan went up to a boy named Steve, gently tapped him on the shoulder, and then punched him square in the face.
The expression on Arthur's face was one of shock, but then slowly formed into a very, very small smirk. Oddly enough, it didn't surprise him that Ivan randomly went up to a student and punched him, though, the Englishman figured that the student angered the Russian in some way. Though, it amused Arthur who began to think that he was missing out on "drama".
Honestly, Arthur would not have protested as to sitting and watching the whole ordeal play out. Yet, he felt like he should either break it up or settle some sort of peace between the two students. Arthur, however, also felt like he shouldn't involve himself in the fight considering it was none of his business.
Whatever was running through Arthur's mind seemed to have been ignored when he saw Steve's friends beginning to encircle Ivan, who was clearly outnumbered now. One of the students looked as if he were to go after Ivan. The Englishman wasn't sure if the student wanted a death wish or wanted to look tough, either way, Arthur left his seat and quickly ran over to where the fight was taking place.
The student went to punch Ivan, but was swiftly blocked by Arthur who also proceeded to counter with a punch to the stomach. The Englishman let out a heavy sigh and brushed his bangs out of his face, "What the bloody hell is going on?"

Ivan let out a false happy smile as the English student asked what was going on, he vaguely remembered that the other student's name was Arthur. He reached down and yanked Steve up off the the floor by his collar, nearly cutting off his air supply as he kept smiling.
"This tupitsa was cowardly enough to put his little novichok brother to trying to get a cheap shot in on me earlier today, so I am giving him his reward for being the giant piece of pathetic scum that he is." Ivan said, still with a smile on his face as he kept the other student suspended in the air by his collar, watching as his face began to turn blue, before dropping him on the floor, hard.
Ivan then slammed the heel of his boot into Steve's stomach harshly, and spinning around and punching one of the tupitsa's friends and breaking his nose, feeling the blood spurt onto his fist as he saw him fall back onto the ground, nearly wailing in pain as he clutched at his nose. He then turned to face Arthur with a raised eyebrow.
"So, why exactly are you interfering? I do not mind if you aren't going to stop me, but if you are then I am afraid that I will be forced to hurt you as well." He said neutrally, keeping his fist clenched as he waited for the Englishman to answer him, idly stepping back onto Steve's stomach again, putting more weight on his one foot then was healthy to have on your stomach, making the other boy cough and splutter for breath.

Arthur couldn't wrap his brain around the fact that Steve sent his younger brother to face Ivan. In all actuality, Arthur could, but it was the mere fact that he was seeing it with another pair of brother is what surprised him the most.
All throughout his childhood, his older brothers would spend time picking on him or took advantage of his naivety by doing things just as Steve did. All feelings of sorrow for Steve seemed to transfer to the younger brother as Arthur recalled every single one of his plights as a boy. Quite frankly, all the traumatizing events that he had could be linked to one of his brothers in one way or another.
As the Englishman gazed at Steve, he longer saw Steve's face, but instead, one of his brothers'. He was strangely okay with Ivan beating Steve to a bloody pulp, for, it wasn't exactly "Steve" to Arthur; it was just one of his brothers getting what they deserved for his years of torture.
However, one thing Arthur was not okay with was Ivan beating on Steve's friends. It was one thing to beat up Steve, but it was another to beat up his friends that were just defending Steve.
Arthur crossed his arms and sighed, "Since Steve deserves what you're doing to him, I won't interfere," he stared at the boy on the floor with the bloody nose, "But, I do have a problem with you harming Steve's friends so it seems like we have a problem there".
He eyed Ivan, "I'll defend them if you try to harm them," Arthur then eyed the group of friends, "But, I'll also beat the hell out of all of you if any of you try to stop Ivan".
Looking at the boy with the bloody nose once more, Arthur said, "So, if you couldn't tell already, I'd much prefer things to be fought on an equal level".

Ivan gave Arthur yet another polite smile as he stepped on one of Steve's hands when the other boy tried to get Ivan's foot off his chest.
"That seems fair, and so long as they stay out of my way, then they will not get hurt, but if they interfere, then they will be joining the tupitsa in the infirmary, and will not be leaving it any time soon." He said with a dark smile on his face as he heard a few of the bones in Steve's hand crack under his foot.
Ivan looked over at Steve's friends with his eyebrows raised. "Well? Why are you still here? If you do not want to be hurt like your friend then I suggest that you leave. Now." He spat out the word friend as if it burned his mouth, pulling Steve up off the floor by his collar again, once more cutting off his air supply, watching him frantically claw at his neck in an attempt to breath properly. He then proceeded to toss the boy on his back onto the table, knocking what little breath he still had out of him, watching with mild interest as he slid off the cafeteria table.
Ivan then walked over to the other side of the table, crouching down over the boy who was gasping for air. "Well tupitsa? Have you learned what cowardice in this school gets you yet? Or do you need another lesson on why to not let someone else fight your battles for you?" He asked Steve with false politeness.

He nodded, "Deal". Arthur felt like he just made a deal with the devil; one's life in exchange for many. Still, it all did make him feel accomplished in a way, but watching Ivan breaking Steve's hand under his foot made Arthur wince.
As Ivan told Steve's friends to leave, one of them looked like he was going to go after the Russian. Arthur wasn't one to remember names if the person wasn't significant, but he believed the "brave" boy was named Ryan.
Ryan flinched as he watched his friend be beaten by the large Russian man, while Arthur tried his very best not to watch. The other boy started to break out into a run in Ivan's direction. Arthur casually stuck his foot out, arms still crossed, and watched Ryan fall face first. The Englishman knitted his eyebrows, "What are on Earth are you doing, git? Sod off!"
Arthur turned to see if Ivan was finished with his victim, though only wishing to take a quick glance. He watched Ivan crouch down next to Steve, who at this point, was crying and spitting out blood everywhere. Answering Ivan's last question with the little amount of energy he had left, Steve shook his head.
Hoping it was all to be over soon, Arthur down at Ryan who was still on the floor. "Oh hell," he muttered while offering a hand to help Ryan up.

Ivan let a sneer curl over his face as he saw Steve shake his head, taking an idle look around as he heard someone fall, smirking as he saw one of Steve's friends being tripped by Arthur. He turned back to Steve, with his eyebrow raised.
"Was that a no I just saw as your answer tupitsa? Because if it was, then I'm afraid that you're in for nice, long, lesson on how to fight your own battle." He said, smirking darkly as he patted Steve's head, almost like he was a dog, before standing up, and dragging Steve up by his hair, listening to the other boy yelp and squirm, trying to get Ivan to let go as his hair was pulled harshly, strands being yanked out by the force of gravity trying and failing, to pull Steve back down to earth, a Ivan kept a tight grip on his hair.
He then tossed the other boy back over the table and onto the floor, watching with an expressionless face as he coughed up blood, trying to sit up as he gasped for air. He went over to Steve, pretty much ignoring Arthur and the friends of the dumb ass he was beating up right now. He went and stood over him again.
"Well, have you learned your lesson yet tupitsa? Or do I still have things left to teach you?" He asked with mocking niceness as he stood over the other boy, waiting for an answer like any good teacher would.

Ryan reluctantly took Arthur's hand to help him up. Still holding onto Ryan's hand, Arthur pulled him in close, "The fact that you're brave enough to defend your friend who has wronged was enough for me to get you and your friends out of trouble. Now, return the favor by leaving with your friends".
Taking in Arthur's words, Ryan nodded and walked over to his friends, motioning towards the door. With a sigh of relief, Arthur then turned towards Ivan and Steve, hoping to end their conflict.
Wincing with each time Ivan made contact, Arthur slowly but surely made his way over. It seemed like Steve's answer was what Ivan wanted in order to continue beating the boy.
Before Steve could give Ivan another stupid answer, Arthur intervened, "Ivan, I think he has learned his lesson". The Englishman sort of wished he had kept his mouth shut, for he feared he would be the next on Ivan's hit list.
He examined Steve's face, "He probably won't be breathing on his own much longer anyway," Arthur looked back at Ivan, "Enough is enough. If any problems persist, you can come talk to me about it. As for him, I'd very much like to take him to the infirmary right about now".

Ivan gave a snort as he listened to Arthur talk, looking over Steve, who was in fact gasping for air after being repeatedly choked, getting his jaw broken, and being tossed around by Ivan like a rag doll. Ivan let out a smirk as he looked over the damage he had caused Steve, proud of his handiwork as he took a step back.
He thought for a moment, before reaching down and picking up the half dead boy by the collar once again. Ivan shook Steve a little to make him look him in the eyes. Once he was sure that he had the only half conscious boy's attention, he began to speak again.
"Now tupitsa, I hope that you have learned your lesson and will from now on fighting your own battles, otherwise your team mates in the field, if you graduate from this school alive, will more then likely leave you for dead." He said seriously, since he was speaking the truth, and that even in the tournament Steve would be abandoned by any allies or team mates he had if he refused to fight his own battles.
He then tossed Steve at Arthur with yet another snort. "Here you go, take him to the infirmary then, but let me warn you now, if he ever, ever does anything like that ever again, then the body will never be found, that I can assure you of." He said, lifting his chin as he spoke to Arthur and Steve, hoping that they would understand that this was the only warning that they would ever get from him.

Arthur sighed as he watched Ivan reprimand Steve once more, which could be a considered almost a laughing matter when compared to physical "punishment" Steve had received.
The Englishman knew that what Ivan was saying to Steve was completely true. If Arthur was Steve's ally, which was something that would never happen in a million years, Arthur would personally push Steve off a cliff if Steve had made him the sacrifice. Arthur almost shuddered as he thought of what it would be like to have Steve as an ally in the tournament.
When Ivan tossed Steve over to him, Arthur nearly fell over from trying to catch Steve. He adjusted himself and tried to hold Steve upright. The Englishman nodded, "Thanks," and then made his way to the infirmary with Steve.
Arthur wasn't a weak individual, but he was a bit smaller than others, so having to carry around another who didn't support himself in anyway was a bit difficult. He wished that the burden of carrying Steve off to the infirmary wasn't passed onto him, but he knew Ivan definitely wouldn't do it.
While carrying Steve, he wondered how Steve's younger brother would react to the disaster that just occurred. Arthur placed himself in the younger brother's shoes and one of Arthur's brothers in Steve's. In all honesty, Arthur would feel bad that one of his brothers would be almost comatose, but then a lesson would be learned. A part of him almost wished that Ivan would go a few rounds with one of his own brothers, primarily his least favorite, but that idea wasn't one that was ever going to happen.
Arthur sighed and then groaned as he carried the other, "Bloody hell, Steven. If you cause anymore problems, you'll have a visit with me before I ship you off to Ivan," and with that, they arrived at the infirmary.
